The  season of Advent brings with it many rituals of anticipation, of waiting. But to many Advent is about more than waiting for Christmas. It is a time of quiet, of reflection, and of meditation on promises made by God – the promise of Christ’s coming as an infant, and the promise of his return. Birth and rebirth. So it is with pilgrimage. 

Joby Talbot's epic choral odyssey, Path of Miracles, follows the physical, emotional, and spiritual journey of pilgrims on the 500 mile Camino de Santiago. Each of the four movements is named for a cathedral, the major staging posts along the way, and the work concludes when we "cast into the sea at Finistere," repeating prayers to St. James in celebration of the end of the journey and the beginning of a new life.
